Personal bio

Magda is the Co-founder of GoZeroWaste (Barcelona) and a partner at WeGoZero (Amsterdam), with a strong background in Journalism, Marketing, Project Management, and Tech. As a passionate sustainability communicator, she focuses on innovative ways to engage and educate people about the vital role of waste prevention and reduction in the Circular Economy and the systemic change our world urgently needs.

Throughout her career, Magda has collaborated with corporations, SMEs, municipalities, local businesses, and various organizations to support their Zero Waste journeys. Her approach is rooted in collaboration and collective change.

Outside of work, Magda enjoys photographing bins wherever she travels and sparking conversations with strangers about why recycling alone isn’t enough—emphasizing the need for a complete systemic shift, which she is dedicated to making happen.

Project experiences

  • Zero Waste 360º (2023-2024) Various European Locations: The Netherlands, Sweden, Poland In partnership with We Go Zero, we supported a major corporation in reducing and diverting up to 90% of its waste, enabling the company to: - Meet and exceed sustainability targets related to waste reduction - Achieve significant cost savings and explore new revenue streams - Maintain full compliance with EU waste regulations - Engage and educate employees to actively participate in the company's Zero Waste journey This initiative is part of a broader strategy to implement comprehensive Zero Waste services, aligning waste education programs with long-term sustainability goals.
  • Moving Towards Zero Campaigns (2021-2024) 13 Municipalities in Catalonia, Spain We implemented waste reduction and local consumption campaigns across Catalan cities, including Vilanova i la Geltrú, Igualada, Manlleu, and Blanes. These campaigns included: - Hands-on workshops, cleanups, and swap markets for the general public and schools - A gamified Zero Waste challenge through our Go Zero Waste app - Communication campaigns with local businesses to encourage sustainable practices The Zero Waste Challenges have also expanded globally in collaboration with organizations like Sustainable Ocean Alliance (worldwide), Race to Zero (USA), Dublin (Ireland), and Universita di Torino (Italy) since 2022.
  • No Waste Patagonia Challenge (2024) Fundación Lenga, Chile As part of the "Turismo hacia Basura Cero" project, funded and supported for the second year by GAIA LAC and Break Free From Plastic, we collaborated with Fundación Lenga to help companies in Pucón, Puerto Natales, Punta Arenas, Puerto Williams, and other areas in Patagonia progress toward Zero Waste. Our efforts included: - Providing customized consultancy sessions to guide businesses - Organizing educational workshops, talks, and awareness-raising activities - Highlighting and promoting best practices to serve as examples for other companies - Educating visitors and tour operators on Zero Waste practices in the Patagonia region
